FREDA FAQs
Your questions. Clear answers.
Explore the fit for your team, how guidance is reviewed, and what to expect from a demonstration.
What is FREDA, and who is it for?
FREDA stands for Federal Recovery Executive Digital Agent. It provides AI-assisted disaster recovery research and guidance for agencies, grantees, program teams, contractors, consultants, nonprofits, and disaster survivors. It supports informed human decisions; it does not determine eligibility, award benefits, or replace a case manager.
What recovery challenges can FREDA help with?
Start with understanding a program requirement, locating relevant source material, comparing guidance, or preparing questions and checklists for professional review. A demonstration can help identify which workflows fit your team and the sources available for your implementation.
Which programs can FREDA support?
FREDA can be configured around CDBG-DR, CDBG-MIT, FEMA assistance, federal grant requirements, and state or local recovery programs. Program-specific source coverage and the scope of support are agreed during implementation.
Does FREDA cover all 50 states and U.S. territories?
FREDA is designed to support all 50 states and U.S. territories. The current desktop library includes all 50 states, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Guam; other territory and program libraries are configured during implementation. Source coverage and currency are reviewed for each implementation.
What does working with FREDA look like?
Bring a question such as “Where do our program documents address this requirement?” or “What changed in the guidance, and who needs to know?” Select the relevant jurisdiction, explore the available information, and review the sources before deciding what to do next. Ask for a demonstration using a scenario relevant to your work.
Can FREDA cite the governing authority behind a recommendation?
Yes. At your request, FREDA can provide citations to applicable governing authorities where those sources are available in the configured library or research results. Ask for the source, section, date, and link when available, and an explanation of how it relates to your program and jurisdiction. Distinguish binding requirements from guidance or suggested practices. Check citations against the current official source; if supporting authority cannot be located, the recommendation needs further review.
How is FREDA information vetted for accuracy and relevance?
An AI-generated answer is not an authoritative program determination. Before using it, check the cited official document, publication and effective dates, funding source, jurisdiction, and amendments or waivers. For a scoped implementation, the team and customer agree which libraries to use, who reviews outputs, and how updates and gaps will be handled. Review frequency, coverage, and approval controls must be confirmed for that deployment.
What should I do if an answer seems incorrect or a source is missing?
Pause before acting and check the cited material against current official guidance. To report a FREDA issue, contact michael@gagnerservicesgroup.com with a brief, non-sensitive description and any public source links. Do not include sensitive applicant information. Eligibility, payment, procurement, and compliance decisions remain with the responsible program officials. Confirm support arrangements and escalation expectations when scoping your pilot.
What information should I share when requesting a demonstration?
Use the request form for business contact information and a brief description of your needs. Do not submit Social Security numbers, dates of birth, income documents, or sensitive applicant files. Discuss your privacy, retention, access, and security requirements before sharing operational documents or beginning an implementation.
Can I share sensitive applicant information?
Do not submit Social Security numbers, dates of birth, income documents, or sensitive applicant files through this website’s demo form or ordinary email. Use public or appropriately de-identified examples for demonstrations. Confirm the applicable data-handling arrangements before sharing operational documents or using sensitive applicant-file workflows.
Can FREDA help with document review?
A scoped demonstration can explore document comparison, summaries, checklists, and review notes using appropriate source material. Sensitive applicant-file workflows require agreed data-handling and review controls before use. Final eligibility, payment, procurement, and compliance determinations remain with authorized people.
What is FREDA Disaster Recovery Watch?
A briefing format focused on policy changes, funding developments, and procurement opportunities: what changed, why it matters, key dates, and relevant sources. Ask for a sample briefing and discuss coverage during your demonstration.
How can I use FREDA on web, desktop, and mobile?
Invited participants can use the hosted browser workspace. Supported browsers may also offer installation or a home-screen shortcut; internet access and sign-in remain required. Separate Windows installer availability is under review, and no native app-store download is offered here. Read the device instructions. Voice features and access are confirmed during onboarding. The images illustrate the experience; this public website is not the live application.
Can FREDA be customized or integrated with our systems?
Discuss your program documents, terminology, workflows, and technology environment during scoping. Configuration and integration requirements, feasibility, security needs, and deliverables are agreed before implementation. A listed use case does not mean an integration is already enabled.
Does FREDA replace staff or government decision-makers?
No. FREDA supports research, explanation, and planning. Authorized people remain accountable for decisions involving eligibility, awards, payments, appeals, procurement, enforcement, and program authority.
How does FREDA support government agencies and grantees?
FREDA is a Gagner Services Group Solution that supports disaster recovery research and guidance for government agencies and grantees. It is not an official HUD or FEMA service; program decisions remain with the responsible authorities.
What is involved in a pilot, and how is pricing set?
Start with one recovery challenge, a defined source set, and agreed review needs and evaluation goals. Scope, users, support, integrations, pricing, and deliverables are discussed before work begins. A focused pilot can help establish whether a broader implementation is useful.
How do I request a demonstration?
Use the demonstration form on the homepage, or email michael@gagnerservicesgroup.com with a brief, non-sensitive description of your needs. If you use the form, complete any requested spam check and wait for confirmation of receipt.
